Yen Press Adds Highschool of the Dead & UraBoku

The North American manga publisher Yen Press has announced at its Comic-Con International panel on Friday that it licensed Daisuke Sato and Shoji Sato’s Highschool of The Dead, Hotaru Odagiri’s Betrayal Knows My Name (Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru/Uraboku), Kaoru Mori’s Otoyome-Gatari (The Bride’s Stories), and En Kitou’s Higurashi: When They Cry Demon Exposing Arc (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Onisarashi-Hen). The publisher will also release Aron’s Absurd Armada by Misun Kim online.

Yen Press is launching the beta version of Yen Plus Online, the replacement for its recently ended Yen Plus print magazine, on Friday. The service is free for the first month, and subscriptions will then be US$2.99 per month. Yotsuba&!, Jack Frost, a “special short story” called “Haunted House Call,” and other titles will be in the service. The service will not use Adobe Flash Player, so it will work on Apple’s iPad mobile device.
